OK if you don't mind the noise

I have lived in Virginia Village almost 4 years. When I first moved in, I was thrilled about the space and large walk-in closet in the bedroom. I liked the kitchen, large and lots of light, the bathroom was OK, not the greatest if you get one of the apartments that have not been renovated. The pipes are very noisy.
The neighbors were friendly and overall it was a good place to live.
Over the years, a lot of new people have moved in who are totally inconsiderate. The floors/ceilings of the buildings are wood, so you hear people walking/"stomping" above you all the time. It's especially bad at night. People get picked up and the drivers of the cars just honk, sometimes for half hour or so. Doors are slammed that the whole building seems to shake and you don't need any TV or radio because you can listen to your neighbors'. You just have to be open to their preference of music.
The management takes care of maintenance problems pretty fast, however, are no help with noise complaints.
The fire department is here almost every week because an alarm goes off, very scary.
Unfortunately, many residents don't seem to care about the new carpets in the stairways, they leave fast food containers on the steps, spill food all over and some don't even go into the trash room but drop their trash right on front of the door.
I wouldn't recommend this property to my friends but if you can't afford any of the more expensive apartments and don't mind the noise, living here is OK.
