The prior reviews are old. The following is my experience from November 2004.

I applied online for an AIMCO apartment in Falls Church. They said they didn't have a vacancy there. I asked if they had something else in the metro area. They called back and said they found an apartment for me in Annandale.

A pretty young lady in the office there, Crystal, sent me a lease by e-mail. I signed it and returned it to her by mail. The lease contains a provision that states there is no additional charge for continuing on a month to month basis when the lease ends.

The 9-story building is surrounded by 2-story buildings so you have unobstructed views from the upper floors. There is plenty of free parking on all four sides of the building.

The apartments were rennovated a few years ago so inside of the units is very nice. Each unit has a washer and dryer.

There is a metro express bus to the Pentagon, 20 restaurants, 2 large super markets, several banks and a K-Mart all within a couple of blocks.

The one bedroom apartment I rented is about 850 square feet, which is above average. There is plenty of storage space. You control the heating and cooling.

This area of Annandale has a lot of immigrants. Many of the tenants are Asian. There are a lot of Korean business nearby.

There is a mix of different tenants. There are some old. You can sometimes hear music in the hallways from people who still think this is 1979 and their apartment is a disco.

A few tenants look like they have done hard time. There is a dog on the next property that is constantly barking. The back of the building is piled with trash. People leave shopping carts in the hallway. The hallway carpets need to be replaced.

All-in-all the place isn't bad.

Perhaps the prior reviews are "old," but that does not mean they were incorrect. When I lived there the place was just plain horrible (especially considering the rent), and I could not wait to get out.

"All-in-all the place isn't bad" Hello!! Take a reality check!!!! That area is saturated with crime and it's because of the high number of immigrants (illegal aliens) that live in the area. I lived in annandale and moved to Falls Church about 7 years ago, the area was bad then and it is 10x worse now!!!!! As for the apartments, they are terrible! Just admit it, you made a mistake!
