To their defense...

Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2006
I am not a staff member of AIMCO, but I was a resident of Ravensworth Towers. I moved in September 2005. I have to say, I read some of the earlier posts, and was very shocked and amazed. I myself liked the apartment, and know lots of people who currently live there.
I enjoyed the fact that you can apply online...and Crystal, she is absolutely a doll. She was my angel in disguise. She helped me get in as soon as possible before my husband got out of the hospital. I never had a problem with the staff. They were always courteous and attentive. If I had a comment or concern, they were on it. If I had a maintenance request, they always fixed it in a timely manner unless it was over the weekend...usually the only issues I had were clogged toliets in the master bath...this could wait until Monday because we had two bathrooms.
Management was always pleasant to my family. I had an issue when we first moved in where I saw roaches...I was going to call Orkin myself, but I called and spoke with Crystal, and she told me not to pay my money for Orkin because they had an account...after I talked with her...I never saw another roach...NEVER! I dont even remember Orkin coming to my apartment unless they came one day when I was not home. Any how, I was very appreciative.
As I said...as far as staff/management...I never had any issues...the issues I had and which made me want to move is the tenants! I felt that they began to let anyone move in...in December 2005...there were a few incidents. Once, a lady was assaulted in the parking lot...and the police went around the building knocking on doors trying to find witnesses...my husband heard the commotion...but is blind! Then tenants moved down the hall and they would have loud wild parties and run up and down the hall fighting and cursing, and all that. Then graffiti appeared on the walls in the hall...I was embarrassed to let anyone come over! Beer bottles in the stair wells, and then cars were being vandalized and broken into. I have a 4 year old son, and a blind disabled husband...I was affraid to be out at night b/c I didnt want to get mugged, rapped or assaulted on my way into the building! Oh, and then my electricity...I am very frugal, but it was costing me over $200 per month for electricity alone!!! That was unacceptable...I had a 2 bedroom, 2 bath and a den...and we were hardly home b/c I work late hours...they could never figure out why I was paying so much for electricity. So, in closing, given the things I said that made me have to leave, staff and management were very nice and responsive. The property itself was well taken care of...beautiful lobby, and the grounds were clean. If they screen the tenants and possibly get security to patrol the grounds...then there would be no issues! Oh, and figure out why it costs so much in utilities...but this was one of the better apartments I have rented. If I had to...I would consider going back.
