BE AWARE OF PROVIDING 60 DAY PRIOR VACATING UNIT OR ELSE YOU WILL BE PAYING $300 EXTRA FOR RENT.
I ALMOST FORGOT THAT YOU ALSO HAVE TO PAY $150 FOR ELECTRICITY FOR ONE UNIT' I LIVE WITH MY WIFE AND WE TURN OFF EVERYTHING BUT DOESN'T HELP!!!!
GYM EQUIPMENT BROKEN... IT LOOKS NICE BUT NOTHING WORKS!!!!
I SENT THE EMAIL BELLOW TO CORPORATE AND REGIONAL MANAGER BUT DIDN'T GET A REPLY FOR MORE THAN ONE WEEK. I CALLED THEM TO FIND OUT THAT THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN'T DO. NO-ONE SENT ME AN EMAIL OR CALL ME TO NOTIFY ME THAT THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN'T DO.
THIS SHOWS YOU WHAT TYPE OF MANAGEMENT THEY HAVE!!!!
I am writing this letter because I rent an apartment at Ravensworth Towers in Annandale VA. My lease was due at the end of October 2009 but just found out that I might not be leaving as planned. While I was gathering some information on my electrical bill, the office manager told me that I needed to provide a written letter of 60 days notice prior move date
We received a letter where they informed us to notify the office if we wanted to renew the lease contract for another year. We were not aware that this was required because we assumed that no action was needed on our end since we signed a contract for one year only.
I do understand that this might have been in the contract but I don t understand why this is not stressed when a tenant signs/renews the lease/contract
The manager was helpful and agreed on giving us 45 days as opposed of 60 days but I am not happy that we have to pay $300 extra for the month of November!!! This has nothing to do with money but communication between tenants and management at time of signing/renewing lease contract. I feel like we are being penalized for something that we could take care of IF SOMEONE INFORMED US OTHERWISE.
Because of the many issues we encountered with previous management while signing the contract (as you see in the email below), we were not able to read or pay attention to the contract. We have never been verbally told about the 60 which again I believe should be stressed to each tenant as a form of courtesy or to prevent issues like this in the future.
We are young professionals and always follow the management/premises rules and never had any issues with late payments and/or any other issues.
Please do not hesitate to contact me by phone or email provided bellow

Haha, beware? You are responsible for knowing what's in your lease, since you are signing it and thus legally responsible for following its terms. Don't blame it on the management for not telling you about the 60 day notice requirement (since you should have read it to begin with).
