I have been living at the avant since may 2007. there were a few maintenance issues which were addressed fairly quickly. if they drag their feet you can usually call and raise your voice a bit and then they will answer. the biggest problem during this period was that the mgmt of the apartment complex was changing and i think some things might have fallen through the cracks, but its been great the past couple months. the complex is not the most beautiful or up to date but in the northern VA area it definitely is cheap rent for the size of the apartment which is the reason why we moved in. if you get a parking pass there is no problems with parking. however, guest parking is very limited. and YES they do tow cars away. i do not not hear any noise at all inside my apartment but when you go out in the hall you can sometimes hear noise coming from other apartments. as for the buildings, they are currently updating all the buildings since they are under new mgmt. as for the inside of the apartment - it is very roomy. the closet doors are kinda annoying. the kitchen appliances specifically the oven kinda sucks but it still works. you cant really expect much when you are paying so cheap for this area where rent is normally at least couple hundred more and for a much smaller sq footage.
