Today, I walk into my apartment at the Avant, for which I've lived in for 3 years now, only to find a huge flood in my daughter's bedroom, the bathroom, laundry room, and the hallway. I tried so hard to get in contact with the office and maintenance and I could not get a hold of anyone. I tried Riverstone, who owns the Avant, and no answer. I do not know why I've stayed here as long as I have because the entire staff is sarcastic and rude. They NEVER speak to you in a proper manner and never return phone calls. They have a serious rat/mouse, cockroach, millipede, and ant problem. I hate to even bring food into the apartment because the moment I do, all the bugs come running out, not even a joke. I even know exactly how long it takes before they come out down to the minute. I am a woman, and I have been harrassed by gangs and have had my car broken into numerous times. I have put in my 60 day notice to them and good riddance! If you want to move here, make sure you have a lot of money to waste, because they won't do anything for you and you will be paying out of pocket in order for anything to be done. So if you love to live with bugs in your apartment, constant water problems, weekly power outages, heating and air conditioning problems, outrageously high rent rates, constant loud noises from the Beltway, and a staff that hates to help or deal with it's residents... then you are at home sweet home with the Avant.
