Please take heed....

Years at this apartment: 2007 - 2008
I lived at The Avant for one year and it was 365 days to long. I was fooled by the attentiveness of the staff before I signed a lease, but once I signed...it was all down hill from there.
The apartments are large in comparison to other modern apartments, but they're old. These apartments were built at a time when families either lived in apartments or single family homes. The insects, rodents, parking, and rental department staff are more than enough to bare. The thing that blows my mind is the amount management expects people to pay for these apartments. I was able to rent a townhouse in a wonderful nieghborhood/location for less than I leased an apartment with The Avant. The best thing is I was able to lock in the price for two years and now I don't have to worry about anyone jacking the price up. Something else to warn you about...when your lease expires the rate will go up at least $100 dollars. I was suprised my rent was increased so much especially since I had never made a single late payment. The increase didn't bother me at all though, I had planned on moving out 3/6 months after I moved in...i was just waiting for my lease to expire. FYI - you can rent a townhouse or single family home for less than what The Avant is asking for. And you can definately find a place in a safer environment than The Avant too. Please take heed to what everyone is writing. None of us are trying to deceive anyone. I'm just trying to prevent the misery that I had to endure the 365 days I was a resident. One last thing, if you're still considering moving to The Avant, get the latest police report for the community...you will be shocked.
