There is certainly a reason people choose to move to this complex and it isn't because it's fun to live behind smelly food shacks while listening to the ever busy Annandale fire trucks. This apartment complex is crazy cheap (by DC area definition), located inside the beltway next to shopping, the grounds are decently maintained (even with pet-friendliness), the apartments are spacious (compared to others in the city that are more expensive) and UTILITIES ARE INCLUDED!
Roaches - Yeah, they're here. They are also unavoidable in apartment living. It's called bleach.
Location - Choose your apartment wisely. It's called observance mixed with a little preparation.
Price - You can't beat it unless HUD gets you a house or an hour drive each way is your thrill. [Don't forget the traffic!]
Noise - (Depending on apartment location) It's called life.

Just keep in mind what made you sign the lease and climb down off of the pedestal.
