The title says it all, you get what you pay for. Having cheap affordable housing this close to DC is a plus, but that is the only plus. I will start with the goods which are the utilities are included, pet friendly, and some of the staff has a heart.
Now for the part people will pay attention to. The construction is pretty shotty. The walls in the Garden Apts are paper thin and you can here everything. It wouldn't be so bad if the leasing office would make sure all tenants know apartment etiquette. But when I can sing along with the music that the people above and below me are playing almost all day it is rediculous. And they do not care if you report it or not. The other thing that would be a problem would be the laundry rooms. Again if the staff would go over proper etiquette there would be no issue. But there is only two washers and two dryers for 11 apartments. And people take their clothes down there but forget to get them when they are done. We have also had people put their clothes in with mine. I really don't know if they are clean individuals and that bothers me. The last would be the parking. I cannot get a parking spot anywhere close to my apartment building (enough said).
But other than that the apartment isn't that bad. Oh yeah don't put anything sticky on the walls, it will peel the paint off easily. And the kitchen is small as well. But other than that it isn't the nightmare that everyone says it is. For the rent you are paying this isn't a bad deal.
One last note, I will say that I am leaving and will never consider this apartment complex again. But it's just me. It's cheap but it's shotty.

I am very glad you were honest in your post. There are some on this website who want to sugar coat the truth, and the truth is...you get what you paid for. I had a HORRIBLE experience at The Parliaments, and only stayed there for less than 2 months. I would NOT recommend this community to my worst enemy!!
