Just want to take a moment to tell you to run FAR FAR away from The Parliaments. We moved in of June 07 and still have 3 months left on our lease. We live in the garden apartments. If you like to get no sleep and have no peace of mind - then this is the place for you. Our upstairs neighbor is a monkey and likes to swing from the ceilings between the hours of 10pm - 8am. I'm not here to tell someone what kind of hours you should keep but with every step this person takes I hear it. You can hear him cough, snore, etc. Just what you want to come home to after working a long day!

The building is so structurally poor that I can hear the people that live above him! My husband and I chalk this up to be the WORST apartment we've ever lived in. The manager, Karen, told us that we'll never have peace and quiet. She even tried to say that a hurricane/earthquake came through the apartments in the 70's and the place has never been the same. What a joke.

Half of the people that work in the office do not speak English so your problems/questions/concerns are never properly relayed. We are not from VA and didn't know what we were moving into. Parking is pathetic, so get ready to walk far if you get home after 6pm. This is obviously a low income area where people can't afford to leave (or they don't work). Also, no one wants to live in an area where illegal aliens are loitering out on the street waiting for someone to load them up in their van to work.

I cant say anything nice about The Parliaments or the city of Annandale!

You are so right. The highrise is no better and getting worse. We just had a bunch of hispanic men banging on everyones doors asking if we speak spanish...they were going floor to floor and being chased off that floor by residents only to go to the next. So much for a locked lobby. The rental office staff is worthless unless you speak spanish. Cant wait to move

wow, i WAS A RESIDENT HERE WITH A MOVEOUT OF 11/07. Everyonein the office does speak english, it could be thought you don't. Also, the lobby is controlled access, in my days there, I've seen so many residents leave in someone they don't know. Give them the benefit of the doubt b/c they are just trying to be courteous. High-rise resident, are you saying you close the door directly behind you and make the person possibly use their key? Not a bad place to live, and I do recommend the hi-rise, it has better construction that allos for a more "peace and quiet" of a time. Nice try hi-rise being anonymous.

Newsflash - I wrote the initial review and I do speak English. Its a well known fact that most of the maintenance team does not speak English including some people in the office that are on staff. This place also has high turnover in the office so whatever you were dealing with in 11/07 chances are they dont work there anymore! Cant wait to move out in June!!!! You shouldn't have to dread coming home everyday.

I completely agree! I moved out this complex on '06 and it looks like nothing has change. My worse experience w/Parliaments if I had to share a short story were w/the NONE-English Speaking Maintenance folks! It took them three service repairs to realize they needed to replace my fridge. Even after trying to explain on the first time around that it was more than just a light bulb that needed to be fixed. YEZZIR, ya guess right! That left me at a lost w/groceries and YUP they didn???t seem to care.
