I moved in when my husband was in the military so when we move in all the paper work was easy, we moved into the garden apartments in the top floor at first it was fine I had no problem then I purchased a new car and while I was waiting for my tags to come and get a permanent sticker I had to get a temporary pass in the office and even thought I will go every Friday to renew the pass and had it in my car it was towed 3 times the first time it was my fault because I forgot to renew it by one day the second time they claim the pass was not visible the third time I had the pass visible and it was updated they claim it was expired and I show them the pass, the guy from the towing company saw it in my car when we went to pick it up, he said tell the office for refund. Well I NEVER SAW MY MONEY AGAIN.....
Then the people down below moved and new people came in, I could hear there fights the parties they had every weekend and their conversations in the balcony very inappropriate I have a 2 year old son and he likes to say bye to his father from the balcony when he leaves and this people talking loud about sexual stuff, so I told the office about the issue nothing happen then a couple of days later i receive a notice of noise complaint, they said it was a mistake. WHATEVER!!!!
Staff in HORRIBLE they are rude and really never get anything done, Our AC did not work my son has a skin problem and we live on Medford drive behind blockbuster so the sun hits to our apartment is always hot summer was the worst season ever I told them to come fix it and they said it was fine....... it was fine if you don t live in the apartment..................
Pest control HORRIBLEEEEEEEE our neighbors moved and all these cockroaches came to my apartment I always kept my apartment clean. I lived there for 1 year and 6 months and since I was there only 1 time they actually had pest control and this was the month I was moving
if you want to move in this place make sure that you don t move on Medford drive the apartments across the street are EVEN WORST they have drug dealers and cops are always there every other night they are catching someone with drugs, we were always afraid of our car being broken into, one of neighbors were in the military too and they have nice trucks and they had there car broken into and they stole there GPS and other things in there car.
The washer and dryers will take your money, you have to use a card to wash your cloth well think twice, after so many months of washing my cloth i realized the machine will take your money so we end up having to go to a laundry mat and wash our cloth there.
Think twice about moving here rent is up the ceiling and for the price you pay there you could be living a much better place....................

Wow, you really did have a horrible time. Well, let me start by saying that crap rolls down hill. I don't know if you've ever been in to the office to speak with the property manager, but she's actually only there three to four days out of a week, she's pretty busy with things that do not pertain to The Parliaments usually. That cockroach problem, good luck with that. They are old buildings, and let's be honest, a lot of people there seem to live very sloppy lives. It's these residents that cause cockroach infestations throughout their buildings, not just in their apartments. When the exterminator comes into one of these apartments and treats it without treating the entire building, it just forces the roaches elsewhere...into other apartments in the building.
The parking situation is a little bit of a mess. The easy solution to this situation would have been to issue you a permanent parking sticker until your registration situation had been finalized, then re-issued you a new parking sticker, but I guess the wasted sticker would've meant lost revenue for the property...
It is true that cars are in fact always getting broken into in the parking lots, but the property cannot hire "security" for the lots, as this would assume liability on the part of The Parliaments if cars still got broken into. What could work in a community that large would be a neighborhood watch program. Of course the office would want to be involved, and should be, so that'll probably never happen. Park at your own risk.
Drug dealers, that's a little bit of a more difficult situation. You see, in communities like this there are often a lot of apartments being leased by one person, and then either they don't live there at all and have others living there (maybe friends with bad credit, people who don't have citizenships in the U.S., etc.) and the property manager will never know unless they have to conduct spot inspections for something else. So, now you've got drug dealer's, prostitutes from Korea who mostly have no citizenships in apartments rented by Korean business owners in the area, and then you've got honest people who felt comfortable leasing an apartment at The Parliaments after spending some time with one of the great personalities in the leasing office. To be fair, the leasing professionals for the most part do actually care that your living experience at The Parliaments is a good one, the problem comes where there is a disconnect between the leasing office and the management office. The biggest problem at The Parliaments is that it is run to make money, it is a business of course. However...what management seems to ignore quite a bit is that with this business specifically, there is something more important than the financial aspect. This is a business built on providing homes for people. A home is much more important than the money that a room with four walls can bring in. It's a place where people spend the time outside of work, where people raise their families, where many of the situations that mold a child's life occur. Well, in the spirit of "The Bottom Line", some property managers lose sight of what it is that they really do for a living. In property management there should be a balance of renting apartments and retaining residents. If you pay closer attention to what goes on at The Parliaments, you'll notice that the rents go up once they've reached about 2% vacancy. Of course this causes residents to not renew and move out, thus bringing the vacancy higher. Once they've reached 6%-8% vacancy, the leasing team gets hammered for not bringing in enough new residents, when in fact the problem occurs because you're not retaining residents, partially because of raising rents and partially because they've neglected to properly make their current residents feel like they're at home.
I think I've said enough today, just upsets me a bit when I hear things like this because I know how and why the problems occur, and most of them are easy fixes, unless you're trying to save money by cutting corners...

The highrise is no better. The noise from the people who live above me is round the clock. It doesnt matter day or night. I have complained numerous times to the rental office and their response is to get maintenance to come in to hear it! Yeah right I cant get a maintenance guy here normally anyway..so one is coming at night to hear the noise? I dont think so. We have bedbug issues in the highrise...And you DONT want to be out around the building at night because we have a serious crime issue from the Fairmont Garden apartments illegals...they wander the parking lot..and during the day they sit behind the shopping center and drink and urinate. You want to go someplace else!!!
