Wedgewood West is the poster child for bait and switch -- a form of fraud in which a company lures in customers by advertising a good at a low price, then reveals to potential customers that the advertised good is not available for the price advertised.
I was so excited about seeing this property. I found it on Apartment Showcase -- 1,192 sq ft for $1,310 ... wow. After touring the apartment I was convinced it would be ours. Lots of space at a great price, then came the bad news. The price advertised was not the price at all and they "didn't authorize the price listed on the web." Crest fallen and a little pissed, we drove off the property past a gigantic Apartment Showcase banner.
Yeah, right. No authorization ... who has it then? I'm convinced this is their sleezie way of reeling customers in then talking them into a higher price. Who knows what else they could have up their sleeve. We're not risking it. Prospective renters beware!
