The most annoying thing about living at this complex is the amount of exterminating they do. I moved in exactly a yr ago this month & I can't even count the number of exterminations they have done in my apt. I should have expected that the first day I moved there.

I received the keys to the apt in the morning; I went to the apt & looked for roaches, and well I found them. I was extremely angry & went back to the office, gave them the keys back & demanded another apt or my money back. They took me to 3 apts. & all except the last one had roaches, but all the appliances were older than the other 2 apts. I took that apt & hired an exterminator (out of my own pocket) to treat my apt before I moved in. I have not had any problems at all & have never seen a roach or bug in my apt.

They are treating for bedbugs today & I had to go through an entire process of removing furniture, mattresses, clothing & emptying closets for this one.

The walls & flooring are extremely thin & I can hear noise from other apts. on different floors, especially the apt above us. I have a 65 in. TV & / surround sound that never bothered anyone in my previous complex, but really bothers my neighbor downstairs.

I lived in Arlington before moving here, but the rent was increasing at a ridiculous rate. The difference in rent is around $700 a month & I'm closer to work. I have a busy schedule & only spend a few hrs (in the evening) at home. The monthly rent savings is enough for me to put up with the thin walls, old appliances, crappy building, bitchy neighbors, unresponsive leasing office, but the exterminating is extremely annoying.

I completely agree. Where do I start? The appliances are like...30 years old. The oven does not even have a window, or a light, or a clock, or a timer...it's just one big hot box. By the way, I have lived here for two years and it has never worked. Every time I turn it on, a disgusting smell comes out of it. The parking is horrific. You are not allowed to park your car backwards, for some odd reason. Towing begins extremely early and if you try to go to Tenant services to request a visitors pass for your family member who is visiting...they will give you hell. The people working here are complete idiots. They do not acknowledge you when you walk in. Usually, they are too busy talking to one of their coworkers, on the phone, or playing games on their computer. Most of them do not speak English. There is this idiotic lady who sits in the front desk, where you turn in your rent, who is INCREDIBLY rude and low class. I turned my rent check in ONE day late for the first time EVER and she was so rude about it. I walk in to hand it to her and she looks at me and says, "I'm not taking that." I say, "Excuse me?" She says, "You better go get me a cashiers check and 5% extra for being late." I say, "Can I speak to Management?" she refuses. I argue with her and she says, "You have to do what I say." I say, "I don't HAVE to do ANYTHING." Management finally comes over and she says she won't accept the check, even though I had been out of town and only ONE day late for the first time EVER, and the idiot lady sitting at the front desk says, "I told you so." Now, because of ONE incident, they only accept cashiers checks from me, and I have to pay an extra $5 to my bank for one of these. Since then, I REFUSE to go to that office, I mail everything to them so that I don't have to deal with them. Also, just to renew my lease, it took about five months. There is no outgoing mail boxes either, you just have to set your mail on top of the mail box, which is completely unsafe, because any person walking by can just decide, "Hey! Wouldn't it be funny to steal all of this mail off of the mailboxes so that no one's bills get paid this month?" So, basically, I can't mail anything out of my apartment unless I run into the mailman and hand it directly to them. Packages that get left in front of the door also get stolen ALL the time. They EXTERMINATE like, every other week. Last time, they sent DOGS into my house to check for bugs. The trash is right next to the laundry room, which is absolutely disgusting. The walls are SO thin, I can hear my neighbors' television. The neighborhood is NOT safe. About a month ago I had my door unlocked at around 8:00 PM and all of a sudden, some drunk guy opened the door and was standing in the middle of my living room. Not to mention the amount of people who don't even live here and just "hang out." I live on the bottom floor and there are water marks all over my ceiling from the apartment above me. My toilet breaks every other week because it is like 20 years old. The garbage disposal in my kitchen broke my first month here and my kitchen FLOODED with water. The electricity ALWAYS goes out, for no reason...it's not like there's a storm or anything. Management controls whether or not your apartment will have air conditioning or heat and when you will get it. Maintenance are always entering your apartment to do random "checks." Every other week you get a new letter with a new rule or something you are no longer allowed to do. I mean, I have rented for the past 15 years and I have NEVER experienced anything like this...NEVER. I will NOT be renewing my lease. This is the biggest headache, these apartments are ancient, the service is a JOKE, I mean...absolutely not worth it. FIND SOMETHING ELSE AND PAY THE EXTRA $300 DOLLARS A MONTH FOR RENT. TRUST ME, WEDGEWOOD IS A HUGE MISTAKE!
