I dig it.

With 212 units, this apartment building is considered small to medium for Charles E. Smith, & is a "trainer" for their staff. They're easy to work with if you're straightforward & relaxed, too, but sometimes there's just the hiccups of staff turnover. It's occasionally annoying, but not really bad. They set a laid-back feel for the residents, and they're still ambitious and motivated about doing a good job. Mostly, though, I like that they treated me well from the moment I came through the door, which was not true of all apartments (I wore a t-shirt, board shorts, & flip-flops).
I *really* like being kitty-corner to the metro. It's a super-easy location. I like the piano, the computer room, and the lounge with the TV & the light-switch gas fireplace. I like that the 24-hour concierge can hold my stuff when I need it held. I like that the shelves downstairs are stocked with books, and the residents are free to add to and subtract from the book selections.
I don't like that sometimes Charles E. Smith corporate will jack the prices up like crazy. One of the guys on the 10th floor came in on a special & one year later, his rent went up $500. Sux. The office can warn you if the prices are unusually low when you sign. I'd recommend asking.
In my apartment, everything's pretty new (building was built in 2001 or so) and in good condition. On the way through the halls, you feel like you can hear people in their apartments (though I've never heard anything embarassing, it may be possible); they installed weather stripping under my door to minimize that. I love the gas stove. I love the open layout. I really like the tile floors, but the carpet has a slight tendency to pill. The apartment feels very open and light. I have good closet space.
It's been a happy place. It's luxurious. You pay for it, but it's an appropriate value for the area.
