You Take the Good You Take the Bad

Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2006
I have lived in LT for a year and here are my comments. BAD THINGS: 1) It is noisy, but that is generally because they are constructing the new Capitols practice facility down the street, and the Wilson Blvd side is noisy because the street has steel plates that rattle every time a large car goes over them. 2) The staff is outragouesly inept, and generally the hiv. They will give you the wrong packages, they don't file things correctly, and generally they are the bain of my existence. Plus there is one doorman who legitimately harasses guests of mine who come into the building, although I have not seen him working recently. (Perhaps management did something about his antics) 3) The elevators, while kept brilliantly shinny by the cleaning staff, do not work correctly. Frequently they are out of service or will go up to floor 3 and then every floor will light up and the next thing you know you're walking to the 16th floor. GOOD THIGNS: 1) the location is prime. Not only are there plenty of places to eat, including quick and cheap and nice and expensive, but there are multiple bars and outdoor seating sections. Also, the metro is legitmately 1 block away. Additionally, there are multiple street fairs, like the St. Patty's day festival etc. that go on right next to the building which is convenient and fun. 2) The cleaning staff keeps eveything in good order. They hallways ont each floor, and the first level are vaccumed etc every single day. 3) The maintenance guys respond within 24 hours. If there is a problem (like your oven door inexplanably explodes, yes that happened to me) they will come up in fast, shop vac the glass up and bring you a new door within 20 minutes. Plus, the guys are nice and trustworthy and I have complete confidence in letting them into my place while I am away.
CONCLUSION:
LT is just like any other major apartment community/building. There are bad things and there are good things. If having great location and a pool etc. are important to you it's a fine place to live. If you don't want to deal with idiot office personnel and crappy ghost driven elevators than don't live there.
(As for the guy who claimed they didn't turn the air on. . . It's called a thermostat, it's by your bathroom, you swith it to air and then set the tempurature and it turns on. It's funny how that works.)
