I recently moved out of the Atrium and only because of a permanent international work assignment. The Atrium was great when I moved in in 1999 and was soon thereafter extensively renovated inside. The building underwent an extensive exterior renovation in 2006 as well as a very nice renovation of the gym with almost all new equipment. The building is now in great shape with the exception of some water leaks in the garage which will require some major repair (and condo fee increases).

The staff has had its ups and downs, but in general has been excellent. Negative comments in one review here are simply the opposite of my many years of positive experience.

The best thing about the Atrium is absolutely its location -- it can't be beat. Orange and Blue Metro lines about a block away, Arlington shuttle stop in front of the building, Georgetown bus across the street, and a Pentagon shuttle one block away -- this is Washington commuter heaven people! Safeway, CVS, Cafe Asia, Rays the Steaks, etc, just a block away and Georgetown and Roosevelt Island are just a ten minute walk away.

Lastly it was a good investment too. I paid 120K in 1999 and sold for 340K in 2007 -- that's respectable. I'll be shopping for a bigger condo there when I return.
