I've lived in the community for three years and have not really experienced a lot of the problems expressed by other reviewers. I found the maintenance staff to be friendly and prompt when we've had problems such as disposal problems and a broken down dishwasher. The leasing office staff has been accomodating to any requests we've made and have been unfailingly courteous. They even overlooked one time we sent the rent late when we were out of town. I have two cars and have never had a big problem parking on the street. The dog poo on the grounds does get a bit old though they hired a service to pick it up and it has abated somewhat. Personally, I have never felt unsafe, at least no more than you would in any normal urban area. I have a six year old and we go out for walks at night all the time with no problems. It is a diverse community which includes immigrants and members of all races. I don't know if this is what irks some of the other reviewers so much. It's in a great school zone (for elementary, at least) and it's in a convenient location. I have had one problem with noise from the downstairs neighbor but after calling the office, they took care of it. I have taken full advantage of the amenities, especially the gym. It's not a Gold's gym by any means but has all the basics and it's regularly maintained though it can get crowded on the weekends. My deep seated hatred for the Washington DC area in general makes this a less than ideal place to live, but the apartment itself is not so bad.
