yes, the apartments are older (and thus smaller), and if you want some 1960-70's crackerbox, live somewhere else

but maintenance has been very responsive to us, and the management (the same company since it was built in the late 1940's-50's) is very polite, speaks English well, and helpful

heat: my wife likes it warm, and in the winter we can get it up to the high 70's. a/c is good, if just one unit in the living room -- and utilities are included in the low rent

roaches: yeah, it's got a few bugs, but not many -- it's older, it has a lot of immigrants, and if you're not clean yourself, you will have a problem in this southern state

parking - never a problem finding a space

crime -- as encouraged by the management rental policy, i have two cops (a married couple) living next door.
