I asked management if there were a problem with mice before I moved in. They told me "no" and lied. I husband has a friend who moved out of the complex because of the mice problem. My husband found a whole under the kitchen sink and patched it up with tape, but that didn't work. We catch approx 2 mice per month and the problem is unbearable. Every time I see a mice I scream and run, and the mice run the opposite direction. I've never in my life had a mice problem before. One day I ran right into my dinning room chair and landed on the floor and I'm pregant. I want to get a cat but the nurse tole me that I have to wait until after I have the baby because of toxemia. There is also a problem with roaches. Also, the dryers are always breaking down. There are three dryers in the laundry room not far from my apartment and two are usually working and people always fight over the one dryer. For example, a lady actually stood in front of the dryer while her clothes were in the washer and would not let anyone use the one working dryer until she finished washing her clothes so it would be available when her clothes finished washing. I complained to maintenance, and they came down an hour later to the laundry room to tell me that there was nothing that they could do because she that particular lady acted like she did not speak English. I'm looking for a better place to live that's not too expensive.

I agree with the mice and roaches. The whole office staff members lies. When you complain to them all they will say is you have a choice to move out. That goes to show you that they do not have good customer service skills. Management want to keep raising the rent but do not want to correct the problems such as cleaner and new washer/dryer. Some of the windows are painted shut. Then you have to put of with annoying neighbors. When you complain they sing you the same old song "we wrote them a letter" but the problem still exist. Management don't care because they just about the money and will keep renting to the spanish immigrants and their firends and families who keep overcrowding and have loads of laundry that the hog the use of the laundry room to others.

I've lived in Barcroft for the past 6 years and have never seen a mouse or had problem with the laundry room washer/dryers. Anytime I have a complaint I call the rental office or the maintenance department and within a day the problem is fixed. Rents in Arlington County have been on the rise for many years and the managment company has always been fair in the rent increases..the last one was only $50.00. And one year they even decreased the rent for 4 months!! What a savings. I only pay $890.00 for a very large 1-br and have been very satisfied with the community and management!! They are awsome!! I would recommend Barcroft to anyone.

I agree my family moved out of Barcroft because of the mice/rats...whatever they were. Luckily you saw only 2 per month. We caught AT LEAST ONE PER DAY!!
