I've lived here for a few months, my boyfriend for a year and a half. We are looking to move because we aren't happy, but it's not that bad.

Pros-always parking available; it's all old buildings, so it's not fancy, but you can't hear a peep from your neighbors unless they slam a door; maintenance men are not exactly brain surgeons, they may take a few trips to fix problems, but they're nice and they come quickly; good size apartment for a one bedroom; close to major roads and Bailey's Crossroads for good shopping.

Cons-lots of bugs like crickets, but if you have a cat to kill them for you it's no problem; I've seen exactly three roaches here, not an infestation, but they are of the giant variety; laundry rooms are atrocious, avoid it if you can, you can never get a machine unless you are home during the day because the women come and do laundry for the 20 people living in their apartment (seriously, they come in with multiple garbage bags and take every machine); if you are into electronics and have a big tv and sound system and all that then you will have some blown fuses; air conditioner only cools the living room area, but my boyfriend bought a floor air conditioner for the bedroom with a little hose that goes out the window, we've never had a problem with it; office staff is rude, but we don't have to deal with them that much; not exactly a nice, safe neighborhood, but if you mind your own business then you're fine; hall closets are sooooooo obnoxious, they were cut for hardwood floors, but we have a carpet, so you have to lift and pull at the same time, and they always come off the hinges.

Overall, we mind our own business and don't have anything to do with our neighbors, so it's not bad. But we can't wait to move so we don't have to deal with the hassle of laundry and giant bugs. If you can afford better, go someplace else, but if you can't then just buy a cat and hope for the best.
