I've been living in Barton House for just over 6 months. It's a great place. It was spotlessly clean when I moved in with new carpet, new paint job and great appliances (I think they must have been new too though I don't know for sure). The staff was EXTREMELY helpful. My cable TV was hooked up the day I moved in. Living here is great. No bugs! I never hear one sound from the neighbors except maybe a little bit when I walk into the main hallways. I have a spacious apartment with a nice balcony. The VERY reasonable rent includes everything except phone so it's a great deal for the area. There's a bus right across the street or you can walk down to the metro station (about a 10-minute walk). And having a reserved (free!) parking space makes life so much less stressful. The laundry rooms and main building are always clean and well kept. The building feels very secure with its key-required entrance. The rooftop patio and pool are nice. The visitor parking lot is decent for the area too (it does fill up, but it's still better than most and there are side streets for guest parking too). By far the best apartment I've rented in Virginia. It doesn't have the luxuries that some of the really expensive apartments have (i.e. super-fancy gyms, Olympic-sized pools), but I never needed those anyway! And it costs MUCH less than those places. I love it here! It's great! I highly recommend living here though you may have to wait a bit to get in. It's worth the wait!!!
