I lived at the Barton House from 2002 thru 2008 and absolutely loved it here. It is by far the best price in north arlington, not to mention the best apartment size. I lived in a 1 bedroom and it was almost 900 sq. feet. Most of the Ballston/Courthouse 1 bedrooms are 600-700 sq. feet. Next, the apartment rent includes all your utilities including cable tv. Third, you get an assigned parking spot in the garage below the building.

For visiting guests, this is one of the few buildings in Arlington, that actually has a parking lot and there is always plenty of parking on the street. The metro is a quick 5-10 minute walk and the Courthouse farmers market is also.

The best part is the management. The are just wonderful. Many times I would forget to drop of my rent check, and they'd just give me a quick ring to remind me instead of slapping me with a late fee. I have had my toilet break on Thanksgiving day, and someone was up in my apartment fixing it within the hour. I've asked them to come in and hang up shelves for me, and they have gladly done it.

The only thing is that the apartment doesn't have laundry in the apartment...but given that the laundry costs $0.25 for washing and $0.25 for drying, I am not complaining.

The only reason I moved out was because I was relocating out of the state. Barton house had been my home for 6 years, and I'd consider myself lucky if my current places was half as good.

is your apartment already rented out? I would love to take a look. I'm new to the area and so far, this place has the best price, and based on the reviews, management. you can contact me at mlnshh at hotmail dot com. Thanks!

They are almost always 100% occupancy. There are even people in the building on the waitlist to move from an efficiency to a one bedroom, etc (and current tenants get first preference). If you know someone in the building and can use them as a reference, that will help you too. Tho don't be discouraged...I didn't know anyone when I moved there. The key for me was persistence. I emailed them once every two weeks and I happened to catch them when they had just received a notice. I went to look that weekend and signed a lease. Having a specific time frame would def. help --- I was moving there after college, so I knew exactly when I needed the apartment. Hope this helps and good luck in your search.

thanks pgwiz1. Do you have a one bedroom or efficiency? Is it an older building? I am trying to find more pics of the insides of apartments there. And if I am told eventually to write back with a specific date, is that a good sign?
