Lived here for two years with little complaint. The kitchen was outdated, but everything worked. Most maintenance problems were fixed within 24 hours. It is a really quiet apartment. It was built after they knew Reagan National was being built, so the apartment is almost soundproof. Had an apartment right next to the elevators and never heard them. Only occasionally would I hear the upstairs neighbor. Not sure what the noise is like for the apartments that overlook the train tracks.

My biggest issue with the apartment was with the garage. The spots are kind of on the small side, causing many people to park over the lines. So if you get back to the apartment late you might not get a spot. The garage was redone recently, (what they did besides make a mess I don't know) this was not the best experience. But the staff was as helpful as they could be.

The building is located right near a bus stop and more importantly the metro. Crystal City has recently gotten more restaurants and this apartments is within walking distance of all of them. But you pay for the great location. If I renewed my lease I would be paying for all of the utilities, including water and trash pickup which are included at other apartments in the area. Overall it is a nice place to live.

What's the difference between Crystal Place and all the other Charles Smith Apts in the area (Crystal House, Crystal Square, Crystal Plaza, Crystal Towers etc.) They all have bad ratings. Don't know what to think.

Hello!?? They are now going to charge for trash pick-up and water? To the tenants? You've got to be kidding!!! Only from the minds of CHARLES E SMITH CO., hmm?? Anyhow, I lived there in the mid '90s for 2 years (Apt. 315, a 2-bed). Building was okay then, there was coffee and junk donuts downstairs every morning. There was only one murder in the building while I lieved there, but I hear there were many rapes and break-ins. They also towed my visitors' cars from front of the building (vistors parking area) like clockwork. The garage was frequently broken into and cars vandalized. You've got noise everywhere, and after a while, Crystal City just gets to be too antispetic and dreary.
