I'm a little surprised to be the first one writing a positive review of Crystal Square on this site, since my experience here in the few months since I moved in has been pleasant and trouble-free. Almost of of the complaints in other posts center around rent and utility increases, but by renting a unit in the winter and getting a unrenovated apartment my roommate and I were able to find an extremely reasonable deal on a one bedroom den (with added half bath). The kitchen is dated but big and completely functional, and I've never seen balconies this large at any other place, DC-area or otherwise. Given the location and amenities right underneath you in the Crystal City mall it can potentially be quite a bargain.

The management is helpful, if a little too cold and corporate in feel. I can't complain though, since after I made a remark about a small stain on the carpet(which was otherwise in great shape) during my initial walk-through, they went ahead and replaced the entire carpet before we even moved in. The convenience of being directly above the metro will spoil you, also.

In any case, for others looking for a longer-term stay at this place, you may very well have a different experience with the management and with pricing, but in my time here I really can't find anything to whine about.
