Maybe being from the Bay Area (Monterey, CA to be exact) I am used to a different type of environment or expect different things, but I found it an oddity that everyone I worked with recommended this building while everyone on this website acted as though this place is the bowels of hell. Luckily I was able to view the place for myself and make my own judgments before making a decision to rent or dismiss the building. (Obviously you can guess what I eventually did)

While some of the rooms seem a little older in their nature and could see some problems with time, for people who want a nice room with a modern interior and look, they have those as well. You just have to pay for a little more (as they say, you get what you pay for). While I think the upgraded rooms are worth it, even the older style still have a lot of room and had more than enough closet space for me, with room to spare.

The only thing the naysayers seemed to have agreed on by quickly reading over these comments is the location. (As they say in real estate location, location, location). Now maybe this area has only gotten pretty convenient in recent years, but I don't understand what everyone was paying before that they would even possibly get close to a 33% rent increase in one year as they claim. Even attempting the math just doesnt make sense. Furthermore, In looking at all the apartments that are available in the area, for the location, size of apartments, and quality of the building I thought this was the best for its money. It certainly wasn't 33% more expensive than some of its competitors I liked. (unless of course the competitors are also simultaneously all raising their rents 33% each year)

All in all, I'm glad I took the advice of my co-workers and not the residents airing all of their personal drama with the complex. I'm also glad they aren't my co-workers.
