A nice experience turned horrible

I like the spaciousness of the apartment and the convenience of the location. Irene in the leasing office was helpful when I moved in. The first few months were not bad except that the promises of a pool for the summer and more parking space were never delivered.
But things became really bad when I started to consider renewal two months in advance and dealt with the new staff in the leasing office and property manager. First, I was provided with three versions of renewal options, all of which were then overwritten. In between they put my unit on the market with any paperwork and my intention of vacating. No apologies were given and no one took responsibility for it. Second, I turned in my renewal lease and followed up with four inquiries of the status. Not until the fourth inquiry did they return my call and told me blatantly that my signed lease was not valid with no apologies of the delayed response. I eventually decided to move out but was asked to pay for the rent for extra days to meet the 30-day notice policy even if I turned in the signed lease well in advance of the due date and was provided with nothing regarding their slow response. Throughout the process, the property manager and assistant manager had an aweful attitude, saying things like "you have to move out today!" Why should I since I still have one month on my lease!
