High price rip off and dilapidated building

Crystal Towers has three selling points: it's near metro, it has free parking, and it's near everything you could want. However it's simply too expensive. I pay $1350 a month for a 10th floor one bedroom and that's it. The walls are falling in. The doors barely lock. The hallways are dirty, the day time staff is unhelpful at best, and this rent increase after one year is a sham! Everyone must pay the $500 ammenities fee upon move in so they raise the rent to get people to move out because they know people will move in and pay the $500. That's an unrefundable cash profit. You can't change the heat or a/c if you don't like it because all the units LEAK so that means if its 75 degrees in April too bad your unit will still leak hot air. There's no reason why the rent increase at renewal should be 30%. They want you to move. You have to move because they want more fees!

All in all the parking is fine, the neighborhood is great, and I can put up with the noisy kids in the lobby, bad staff, and shabby hallways if they just didn't raise the rent so much! The only noise is ocassionally through the walls (not the floors) and the firetrucks etc. outside. Be prepared for a rent increase and expect to get just an apartment - no luxury.

I would like to hear more about the lawsuit. Is there someone in the building I can contact? I have had many problems with Crystal Towers and may be able to contribute additional evidence.

What is the matter with you people?
This place is very nice, the staff, helpful and willing to make things pleasant. We in six months have found this a delight. You will never find the perfect place w/perfect tenants, and if you do, please do not move into it!
Count your blessings...

Probably you had delays-- I wonder why? Could it be the way you approach people. In your comment, I hear nothing but anger... do you smile or say thank you? I take the opposite approach and usually get exactly what I want within a 12 to 24 turn around and a follow up phone call. what more is needed?

Do you ask maintenence to fix every little problem that can be essily solved with 5 dollars and Lowes or Home depot? Look, if you put wieght on every little thing that goes wrong with your apartment, and don't learn to fix it yourself, then of course maintenence will get tired of everwhelming requests from you. If its serious, yah, go contact them immediatly, I suggest before 12:00PM becuase that's when maint. is more attentive. I also think its a good idea to log everything down, make a contract for them and notarise it. Just a few suggestions. You do got to understand my complex only has 3 maint. for 308 units. the ratio isnt very good for maint.-unit.This may be the same for Crystal-Towers.

Maint. is more attentive before noon...? Do they start drinking at noon and become less attentive (what the F are you saying here??) I believe it is an ever-whelming request to read your post.

Where do I sign up for the lawsuit. I have been living here for over two years. Since management change Crystal Towers has gone downhill. Lease violations, increasingly poor service, and rude, poorly trained staff. I have already given my 60-day notice even though my lease does not end until 31 Jan 06. I personally experienced a great apartment and community (2002) be reduced to a very poorly managed building. While this is an excellent location, I can no loger recommend this as a good place to live.

Where do I sign up for the law suit?
