too noisy, too expensive

I have lived in crystal towers for 3 years and am moving out in 2 weeks. The construction noise on the building is impossible to live with. Management has tried to be accomodating and they are responsive to my concerns. But, they want their construction done and if you live here, you just have to suck up the 9 am to 5 pm jackhammering that's always present and at times shakes your apartment. Management (at their expense) did move me to a unit they claimed would be quieter, but 6 months after moving into this unit, I can count on one hand the days without loud noise. I definitely have no idea how families with small children do it.
this was a nice place for right after college. the metro is very very close and my studios were HUGE. it's a nice mix of families, students, twentysomethings and elderly. there's a convenience store in the basement that does a really good job stocking everything you might need and is open until 11pm. most of the front desk staff is very friendly. when i first moved here, utilities were included but in the year and a half they became separate. this month's utility bill for my studio is $88. i've had lower and higher ones. the grounds always look nice, with greenery changing with the seasons.
this building seems to want to get people to move out at the end of their leases. each time a lease expired, i got a huge rent increase. this is the main reason i'm moving. my monthly rent is going up $300. i tried to negotiate, but the fact that i've lived here 3 years seems worthless. the first year is a pretty good value assuming the construction noise doesn't drive you nuts, but don't plan to move here unless you like moving once a year. (the only way i could stay put for 3 years was by physically moving to new units every year-- so in 3 years i've lived in 3 different studios in the building. it's been a major pain in the butt.)

My roommates and I went through the same thing during lease renewal. We changed apartments 3 times, within the north and south towers, because it is actually less expensive to change apartments than it is to switch apartments. You are correct in as much as Management does want people to move, thereby encouraging a high turnover rate. My roommates and I came to the conclusion that they actually make more money via the infamous "move-in fee" which is required by new residents. Finally, we all became tired of Crystal Towers, and their nasty staff. Of course when you first meet them before you sign the lease, they treat you like something special, but just wait until you have a problem. We transfered over to Crystal Plaza, where life has been better ever since!

Yeah totally support what you have to say...There is a very kind lady that has been living here for the past 27 years!!! She went to talk to X person on why her went to high and what could be done about it. Her response was, "Sorry cant do anything, If you dont like it then leave!" what kind of management are we dealing with here?
