Please don't do it!
I woulnd't tell a dog to live here!

In particular:

1)We feel that the staff are very rude, have serious issues with power and control, dishonest, bait and switch attitudes, racially insensitive, unprofessional

2)The quality of maintenance makes my five year ofld nephew look like a hero or a brain surgeon! The walls and floors were literally falling apart. They would come in slam so slab on it and move on, only to return to do what isnt working again!

3)Roaches and rodents galore, especially roaches.

4)no temperature control and this will come back to bite you in the but when its really hot or cold

5)Dangerous place to live too close to D.C. and millitary base, the streets arent safe for young children to cross, people refuse to stop

6) If you care about your kids education you're going to dish out bukoo bucks for private schooling or home schooling, the school districts are overflowing ESL students and parnets who refuse to speak the language!

Don't do it! Please don't do it! Total waste of time and money!

The author is wrong about the neighborhood. I live in this neighborhood and my son attends the school directly across the street from the Filmore Gardens. It is an excellent school that actually receives students from schools in other neighborhoods that have trouble passing the VA standards of learning standards. I'm surprised someone would acuse the apt mgt of being racially insensitive and then write this...

I also disagree with this rating. I've lived at Fillmore nearly two years, and in that time have never once seen a roach. In addition, at the first notice of any insect, the office advises to schedule an appointment with pest control. Also, as a single female, living alone, I can say the area does seem to be unusually safe.

I've lived at Fillmore Gardens for a year now and, like the posters above, I do not agree with this review. I've never seen any roaches in my apartment or in any of the buildings, nor have I had any insect problems. Some units are close to the garbage/dumpster areas, so those units may have insect problems, but from what I've heard, management is very prompt with pest control. Yes, the buildings are older, but maintenance is always prompt. I was having issues with a leaky AC unit last summer and was giving a new AC unit within a few days, no questions asked. The leasing staff is very friendly and willing to help. I'm a minority and I think the reviewer's claims of racial insensitivity are unfounded, because their staff has always been welcoming to me. I'm a woman who lives alone, but feel very safe in the neighborhood. I hardly ever use my car, and think that this area is very pedestrian friendly.

Are we talking about the same property that everyone else is talking about... Maybe you stayed at another Fillmore Gardens in some far away place because your description has ZERO truth to it!!!

I have lived in Fillmore Gardens apartments for about 4 years already. A few months later my son saw a mouse and I got very scared, I had never had any mice before. They put some mice traps and now they are gone. I have no cockroaches or other pest. The area is the best. Very quiet, the playground and the park across the street is a great entertaiment for my children. I would recommend this place to live to anyone who is looking to pay an affordable rent. The office staff are also very friendly. I am happy at Fillmore Gardens Apartments.

I will say that I did see roaches within a few weeks of living here, but the rest of the review is wrong.
