I moved here without seeing the apartment building or the grounds at Fillmore Garden Apartments, so I was a little bit nervous about the move here, but I had heard such good things about the apartment building so I figured it was worth a shot for at least six months. For the most part, I have found the apartment building and facilities to be excellent. The staff is extremely friendly and always ask me how my apartment is doing whenever I go to pay rent. The maintenance people always come within 24 hours of when I had any problems with my apartment. When I moved into my apartment, there were brand new cabinets and blinds installed and the apartment looked well-maintained. I also would emphasize the problem from other posts about noisy floors, but I got rid of that problem by picking an apartment on the top (second floor) so I do not have to listen to anyone else shuffle around. ALL utilties are included, unlike a lot of places that have so many additional utilities you have never thought of before. They also do not have any administrative or amenity fees upon signing. The only cons I see are the small kitchen and bathroom, but as long as you do not plan on becoming Top Chef and don't mind a slightly smaller bathroom, it is definately managable.
Since I work in DC, I have found one of the best things about the apartment is that there is a bus a couple blocks away that goes straight into DC during rush hour. It saves the hussle and bussle of the metro (and is actually cheaper than the metro as well). In all, I have no regrets about choosing this apartment and don't have any plans on moving out any time soon. I hear good management is hard to come by in the Arlington area.
