I lived in Fort Strong for a couple years because it was convenient and affordable for the area. I didn't mind its quirks at first, but by the end of my lease I couldn't wait to get out. I would not live there again, and I would not recommend it to anyone.

Pros: great location walking distance from train and right along the 3AEY bus lines, walking distance from groceries and many shops, large apartments, adequate lot and street parking, utilities included in rent, laundry is in the basement, lots of closet space.

Cons: cockroaches that would not stop coming no matter how much I cleaned and sprayed and taped off crevices, very thin walls and floors/ceilings made for a lot of noise, no individual heat controls in the units and extremely drafty windows made for extremely cold winters, not pretty (I eventually got tired of kitchen cabinets that were so painted they wouldn't close and rusty window frames), the management was sometimes good and sometimes extremely difficult.

Many reviews say something like, "We had roaches but our neighbors weren't very clean." I don't know about our neighbors, but I can tell you that I am a VERY clean person and I could not get rid of them. They weren't just in the kitchen either. One day I woke up in my bed to one crawling on my face. That was my breaking point.
