While it was a good "starting out" apartment, Howard Manor has nothing to recommend itself. The first poster pretty much nailed it. Fortunately, my building did not share the bug problem that the other buildings did, but that may be because I sprayed daily. The husband-and-wife team that managed the place were an odd good cop/bad cop lot: the husband was always generally helpful, the wife far less so. (Plus, she used to sunbathe right in front of my window--not a benefit.) Heat was always a problem--fortunately the area had mild winters for the years I lived here. They had an ample parking lot, but the spaces were kind of tight, and it was very ill-lit. I left before the rents apparently started spiralling upward; while a good place at $4-500 a month, anything more than $850 for a studio here and you should really consider sharing a group house with somebody.
