This is the worst place I have ever lived.
The location is great (next to Pentagon Mall) -- however after a year's lease they
hiked the rent up an additional $1000 and when I asked them what that was about, they said "we can do whatever we want". They lure people into the building at one rent and then hike it up. I know of at least 10 people now leaving as am I.
It's often dirty, long waits for elevators etc.

like they can get away with an 1000 dollar rent increase! I don't belive this is real.

From: SouthNWest- Date: 06/26/2006 Oh My, you live in a trap!! Come over to Crystal Towers on So EADS and 15th. Even though you read some people's negatives about CT. we are living in a much better place. Over all, our 4 elev. work very fast and all go to the garage, the lobby and click cafe are constantly cleaned as well as the elevators and hall carpets. Our apt is beautiful, 2 BR, 2 baths all new and the kitchen sparkles with new tiles, sink appliances and all work... new carpet and a 20'x7' balcony. Yes, we too have the fire engines..going to help someone in need......

technically, there is no rent control in VA or MD, so they can raise rents to whatever they want. i lived in a unit in crystal place, and i was paying 1400 or so for a 1BR den. when my lease was up, they wanted 2100 to renew. part of it was i had decent terms on my original lease, but cmon, a 700 dollar increase? ridiculous. i'd stay away from all crystal XXXXXXXXXX properties. charles e smith is a real estate thug.
