Overpriced! (But cockroaches stay free!)

Park Adams has a good location, close to the Courthouse Metro, and they fully exploit that fact in their rent. To pay about $1400/month for this place is ridiculous, there are much nicer places near by that are not much more expensive.

The worst thing about the summer was that the AC barely worked, it was blowing warm air about 50% of the time. The building is very old and there are a lot of pests, espeically roaches. They seem to be living in the walls or something. Management just announced they are closing one column of the trash rooms because of roaches. I seriously doubt that is going to fix the problem since there is ample space between apartments for roaches to nest. All of the apartments are connected via various air ducts, so there is no isolation from your neighbors as far pests go. Or sound, for that matter, sound travels through the apartment doors as if they aren't even there, and sometimes in my bathroom I can hear other people talking in their apartments through the air vent.

As far as ammenities, they are a joke. The pool opened late this summer because it needed repairs due to the damage caused by not covering it during the winter time. The gym and lounge were out of order for construction for five months, though there was a room with some treadmills in it for most of that time. There are over 200 units but only about 10 guest parking spaces so have your friends take the metro or park a street or two away. The laundry room is a nice comfortable 100 degrees because there is no AC in there, and for some reason it's against the law to just open the door to air it out, according to a sign on the door.

At 1100/month, Park Adams would be worth it, but at 1400 you aren't getting what you paid for. Go elsewhere.
