I have lived in the Park for a little over a year. My problems occurred when my roommate and I attempted to renew our lease. Not only did our rent increase without notice before the lease was left on our door with little correspondence from the rental office but three weeks after signing the lease we were told we then owed a $250 amenties fee. I had to call repeatedly for 3 weeks before anyone would tell me what this amenities fee covered and no one had an answer as to why we were not told about it before renewing even though the obvious paperwork that we were supposed to sign was missing. The first year here, the park offered trash pickup twice a week, timely shuttle service to and from the metro and two parking spaces for two bedroom apts. Not two months after renewing, our trash pickup was terminated for all residents, the complex has become so overcrowded that the shuttle service is basically worthless(even though they keep promising a larger bus) and now they have just "informed" the residents that they will begin towing because now we are only allowed one spot per apartment (even though my roomate and I were originally each given a parking sticker). THIS IS ALL AFTER GETTING ME TO SIGN A 12 MONTH EXTENSION!!!! I seriously doubt that these decisions were made on a whim but NO ONE bothered to inform my roommate or myself that these were even options. I would never tell anyone to move here and if I happen to run into anyone that is considering this place, I will surely tell them to run, run far away!
