Only drawback is distance from the metro

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2007

I have lived at the Park since July of 2006 and for the most part, enjoyed the experience. I moved in because it was my first apartment after school and it was the cheapest by far that I could find that was still high quality apartments. But after living there for a year, I'm getting frustrated at planning around the shuttle schedule so I am moving to Crystal City to be closer to the metro. Here are my thoughts on the pros and cons of the Park at Arlington Ridge:

Pros:
Kitchen-The kitchen is my favorite part of the apartment. It gives you lots of space to work and up to date applicances.

Green Space-There aren't many places you can live in the DC metro area and still have quite a bit of grass and trees around. The garden style apartments and the widely spread buildings create an environment that is refreshing after working in office buildings all day.

Washer/Dryer in Unit-I love having my own washer and dryer in the apartment to avoid carrying clothes down to a shared facility every time I want to wash something.

Cons:
Distance from the Metro-This is the main reason why I'm moving to a new apartment. The shuttle to the Pentagon City metro only runs in the morning and until 7 pm during the week. I got frustrated having to plan my schedule around the shuttle. I found myself rushing to leave work at the end of some days to make the final shuttle instead of waiting for a Metrobus or paying for a cab. Also, I have a car so weekend transportation was easy for me but if you don't, you have to plan around the Metrobus schedule during the weekends to get anywhere or walk.

Maintenance-I've had several problems with the apartment. One time a piece in the tank of my toilet broke and it took the staff almost a week to fix it. I had to call 3 different times to remind people that I was still waiting for someone to come repair it.
