Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2007

My wife and I have been living in this comnunity since early 2006. We live in a one bedroom apartment in one of the buildings off Army Navy drive. Even though we are close to 395, we don't hear any traffic noise. The walls are very thick and our unit has good insulation where we don't really have to turn our heat on during the cold season. Heat and A/C systems are great and they get checked twice a year. We are lucky to live in one of the buldings where we never had problems with any of our neighbors, they are all young and professional. As a minority/foreigner, I can tell you 95% of the people are white Americans, college educated, what I call standard-Americans.

In our building, (what I heard from management), we can't let people in automatically because there is a problem with the intercom system and they have to dig up the ground to repair it. So almost two years now and they have not fixed that. To us it's not a big deal, we use our keys to get in, and we dont mind opening the door to our guests.

When we moved in, the apartment was in an excellent condition, nice kitchen, decent size bedroom, and clean bathroom. And until today we have never seen a roach. But for some reason during summer 2006, we had problems with 3 visitors, they were mice, the first one came under my hamstring while I was sitting, I hate mice. We bought glue and reported the issue to management, they sent pest control later on after our glue took care of the other two. We think they came through the mechanical room. No mice problems since.

The living room can only hold a couch and a sectional. No space for Big TVS, you need to have an LCD TV to save on space. There is no dining area except the bar style kitchen counters. Or you can buy a dinette to put in your living room. This place is good for only a single person or a couple without a lot of furniture. The washer and dryer are a plus. There is only one closet in the bedroom and one coat closet in the hallway. There is also a small closet for towels and stuff in then bathroom.

Overall we are happy, unfortunately we have to move out to a bigger one bedroom or two bedroom apartments. As I mentioned earlier there is no separate dining room, so if you have people over, it's a little inconveniency as they have to sit on the couches, use bar stools or sit on the floor to eat.

For people thinking to rent at the Park, this is one of the cheapest places you gonna find in the area, where your neighbors are decent, clean cut, and mature. I heard people living in the two bedrooms have problems with some of their neighbors. These apartments are usually taken by young professionals with roommates still in the partying mode.

Swimming pool, gym, business center, and party room are great.

You might not find a parking spot sometime if you get home late. But the community is very safe to walk during the night.

Recently they have started charging for some types of maintenance work.

Anyways overall, you won't regret it. FYI, I did not have to deal with management to test their customer service skills.

Please always do your research and visit your apartment before renting.
