Desperately in need of new management

The location and convenience of Pentagon Row are wonderful. Most other aspects of living at Pentagon Row, however, are subpar (especially given the price).
Having lived here for almost two years, I can vouch for the accuracy of many of the other negative reviews that have been posted. The following are a few highlights that may not be obvious during your tour:
(1) Poor Construction: I can hear virtually everything that happens in the apartment above mine. That includes every time they take a step, every time they turn on the shower, every time they flush the toilet, etc. You get the picture.
(2) Parking Problems: A few people have referred to the problems with a white substance that has appeared on the cars. Here's a little more background on that problem. This problem first appeared last winter. When it began to happen, for some reason the leasing office decided against informing the residents of the problem, presumably because they thought it would just go away. When the problem became worse, they were left with no choice but to tell the residents. After all, as residents quickly found out, the substance does not wash off cars. Therefore, every car that was damaged needed to be repainted!!! Although the leasing office "facilitated" the process of getting a check from their insurance company, it was an absolute nightmare and took months. In addition, the leasing office refused to compensate anyone for the time they had to spend getting an estimate to repair their cars, the time spent nagging the leasing office to get checks from the insurance company, or the time needed to actually get the cars repaied. This is clearly not the way to operate if you want to keep your residents happy. Having gone through this problem last year, imagine my dismay when I discovered that this problem was happening again this year. Imagine my shock when I called the leasing office to tell them it was happening again and was told that they were aware of it, but had decided to not inform the residents!!! The fact that they would do this was disturbing (after all, much of the damage could have been avoided by a simple warning), but the fact they they admitted that they knew it was happening again and did not say anything is beyond absurd. The leasing office is either inept or has maken the mistaken miscalculation that its residents are too busy to take the time to sue. Given my experience at Pentagon Row, I believe it is probably a combination of the two.
(3) Packages -- As indicated in other reviews, it is not uncommon for the leasing office to either lose your package or forget to tell you that they have it.
(4) Fire Alarms -- This has been a recent problem in my building. In fact, during the past months, we have had two late night alarms. At one point, during a conversation with one of the firemen who responded to yet another false alarm, I was informed that they were considering imposing fines on Pentagon Row. I don't know if this has happened. If not, it definitely should.
(5) Club Room -- During your tour, they will show you a very nice club room that is available to the residents. They will probably neglect to tell you, however, that you can only use the room if you reserve it and pay $250/day. During all other times, the room is locked. They will probably also neglect to tell you that they frequently rent it to non-residents.
I could go on and on with other problems. I could also point out numerous lies that I was told by the leasing agents who originally showed me my apartment. However, by this point, you should have no doubt in your mind that Pentagon Row is not worth the aggravation. Any conveniences that may be obtained by living in this location are dwarfed by the tremendous inconveniences of living in this location and having to deal with the current management. If they were to bring in new management who focused more on keeping their current residents happy, rather that creating a good facade for prospective tenants, I would be more than happy to recommend Pentagon Row. Unfortunately, I don't see that in the future.
