Great Location, but Beware

The concept of Pentagon Row is great: a vibrant, pedestrian-friendly "urban village" with apartments built atop stores and restaurants. But soon after moving in, I realized that the drawbacks of living here far outweigh the benefits. I have lived at Post Pentagon Row for over a year now, and would caution potential residents to think carefully before moving here.
First, the parking situation is truly a disaster. A year ago, many cars in the parking garage, including mine, were stained by cement deposits that permanently damaged the cars' paint. I struggled for months to get reimbursed by the apartment's insurance company to have my car repainted. I was dismayed to see that my car was stained again last month. In addition, because the resident garage shares the same exit as a public garage, I sometimes wait in line for well over 10 minutes to exit the garage.
Second, while the exterior of the complex is very pleasant, with nice architecture and a great center courtyard surrounded by restaurants, the interior construction feels cheap. I regularly smell smoke from my neighbor's unit, and can often hear my neighbors walk and talk through the wall of my unit. In addition, because garbage from Pentagon Row's apartments, stores, and restaurants is collected in indoor garbage bins, a strong smell of garbage sometimes permeates the hallways.
Third, management tends to be somewhat rude and unhelpful. There is no 24-hour service, so if you are locked out after the leasing office closes in the evening, you're screwed.
While Pentagon Row is a great place to visit and shop, there are far better places to live for the price.
