Before living in Pentagon Row, I lived in a place that was far from everything. Therefore, I was determined to find an apartment with plenty ammenities. True, Post Pentagon Row is by the mall and shops and restaurants and the metro and even the airport, but you will ALWAYS and I mean ALWAYS think about how much money you are wasting each month on the RIDICULOUS rent.

When something goes wrong, immediately you think about the rent.

When your toilet gets backed up, you think about the rent.

When you hear your neighbors walking around upstairs, flushing the toilet, listening to music, talking on the phone, and their cat meowing (Were we even allowed pets'''), YOU THINK ABOUT THE RENT.

While my apartment was nice (hardwood floors, granite countertops, chrome fixtures, crown molding, washer and dryer), in a sense I would have probably been better off living in a shack because when the cost of living is so ludicrous, it is like living in your own personal hell.

Everything goes back to the outrageous amounts of money they want for everything. And on top of that NONE of your utilities are included in the rent. You have to pay for Electricity, Gas, and Water and Sewage on your own. Now add that to your phone bill and your cell phone bill and your cable bill and you get the picture.

Eventually, at some point, the blinders will be taken off of your eyes, and you realize that you could be living in a much more affordable place somewhere else.

I, in fact, live in an apartment that is one thousand dollars cheaper than my rent at Pentagon Row, and I'm a much happier person now that I can place my financial focus elsewhere.
