Okay, after about 4 years in this building, here's what I have to say.
1) The best thing about these apartments is the size. The 2 bedroom apartments are quite spacious.
Aside from the size, there's very little to like.
2) You can't control when the heat or AC are on (and rest assured management will turn the AC on late and off early, leaving you with 85 - 90 degree apartment living and high humidity). For $1700 a month, I should be able to decide when the AC is on.
3) Everything appliance-wise is old and in poor shape. The apartment I am moving out of has a terrible, terrible mold problem that only revealed itself when the crap paint job started to pull away from the walls and under the sink due to the ridiculous humidity. It also attracts bugs that feed on mold. Good luck getting rid of them. Maintenance just slaps a new coat of paint on top of the existing problems. Your apartment probably would have an extra foot of space on each wall, but it's filled with layers of paint by this point. The incredible shrinking apartment.
4) LOUD. Good god, loud. I made the mistake of coming home early from work one day when they were on the outside of the building replacing whatever godawful stuff is on the windows. It was insane. It went on for weeks (for all I know, it's still going on).
5) Related to the construction, it's hard enough finding a parking space after 4pm, but the construction workers have blocked off entire sections of the parking lot. Have fun walking from North Veitch.
6) The rent goes up annually. The total difference from when I first rented is about $700 / month. All that money just to maintain a low quality, not even to improve. Whatever.
So while I tried to stay positive on this place for awhile, enough is enough and I'm out. Spare yourself the aggravation. I'm in a luxury apartment now and I PAY LESS MONEY. Guess what' I control the AC too.
Actually, to be fair, the front desk staff is generally very nice, especially Ivory. Everything else pretty much sucks. Seriously.

Were you required to submit your notice the first through fifth of the month? How did they take it? Did they charge you any fees for repairs or cleaning after you left?
I agree, this place sucks!
