Great place along Columbia Pike, pt. II

Well, it's 5 months after my last review, and my how things change...
All of the statements in my previous post are still true: the property looks great (additional lighting was added to the fronts of all buildings), the apartments are all relatively freshly renovated, you can hardly tell you're off of Columbia Pike, can still hear the neighbors all too well...
...HOWEVER...
It's starting to get a bit ghetto around here: from gang-banger-wannabe's hanging outside the buildings and yelling at each other using all sorts of interesting terms not likely to be found in any dictionary (Spanish or English - habla espanol, si') to those clever people who feel it is irresponsible of them NOT to make sure the entire neighborhood can hear and feel their car stereo within a one-block radius.
I am confident that the people applying for apartments, having their background checks, and signing the leases are hard-working, socially-adjusted types who just want a nice place to live. Unfortunately these same people are bringing all the little thug-lites (friends and/or family) with them who don't do much except smoke in front of the buildings, play their car stereos loudly, and yell at each other (as Chris Rock said, "Keepin' it real...real stupid").
Also sharply on the increase are visits by the Arlington Co. police department. From domestic assaults (always good times when your neighbor gets a trip in the paddy-wagon) to the occasional bike thief being arrested outside your bedroom window (great way to wake up at 4am), it is always something new. I would strongly advise anyone looking for a new place to reside (not just this community) to contact the local police department and try to get a list of the call-outs received or crime reports for the prospective rental location.
The people I have discussed up to this point are by far not the typical residents at Quebec Apartments, but unfortunately they are the most noticeable, and by far the worst aspect of living here. I think a huge part of the problem lies in the fact that management, as great as they are, do little to enforce their own rules and regulations. As you can imagine, once it is established that the enforcers don't enforce, there is little motivation to comply with the standards set.
I most likely will not be renewing my lease once it expires, hence this will probably be my last post at this location. If you can tolerate the noise (trash truck comes 6.30a and the homies like to keep it real until about 3 or 4am on the weekends - oh yeah, don't park near the dumpsters on the weekends, your car will be in a puddle of urine in the morning! Not kidding!) or get a non-street side apartment (ignorance must be bliss...), then this is a wonderful place and I would highly recommend it as I doubt there are much nicer places physically anywhere around here for a reasonable rent. Otherwise, I would suggest that you, much like myself, look elsewhere.
