Do not move here. You will pay way too much for way too little. This apartment building looked great when it first opened. It has gone downhill fast. You will pay more than $1715 for a single bedroom apartment and you will not get your money's worth. The air conditioning systems have experienced outages and malfunctions all summer. I had to threaten legal action against the company to have them take the issue seriously. They discovered problems with the chiller unit for the building and claimed to fix it. It is still not working properly. You can expect temperatures of 74 degrees at the coolest. During really hot days, you can expect at least 80 degrees. The trash chutes in the building blow air out into the hallways. The smell of rotting garbage fills the hallways and your apartment once the air flows inside. They have not fixed this issue either. Smell the first floor before you get on an elevator if you don't believe me. The plumbing makes high pitched noise when your neighbors use water. Employees of Dittmar, who runs this building, told me this was due to cheap valves being installed during construction. Few employees speak English fluently, and the ones that do mostly use it to make excuses and false apologies. This is the same company that owns Lincoln Towers in the same area. Look at the reviews for that building if you want to know how things will progress over time. You will regret it if you do not heed this warning.

Gosh...looks like your experience is the polar opposite of mine and that of my friends who live in Quincy Plaza. The building is kept spotless and the management/service employees could not be more attentive and friendly. It's true that some of the maintenance employees struggle with their grasp of English...but do you expect a Harvard grad to be pushing mops? At least they are polite and try hard. I don't fault them for it. I've lived in other buildings at about the same cost and got much less...it's all a matter of our individual experiences.

jkgnva, Might you possibly be an employee of Dittmar? It's easy to tell when someone is providing a veiled sales pitch to offset reviews shedding light on the shortcomings of a business. I obviously wouldn't have so many details included in my review if I were simply making it up. And no, it is not about individual experiences. It is about the sum of individual experiences. I would invite you to check back here in about a year or two. If the company continues to let things slide, they will have more bad reviews. If they step up their quality control, they will have more good reviews. That is the purpose of this site.

Mr Anonymous, it's funny that you don't post with a user name or bother to register with this site to make false claims. The chiller went out? Yeah about a year ago for about all of 2 days. My wife doesn't even remember it happening. The valves making high pitch noises is true.. or was. It wasn't due to faulty valves.. the building was just constructed. The maintenance crews had to go and make adjustments over the year because some were too tight and others not tight enough which caused the noises (high pressure through a small opening causing the pipes to resonate). You show me one place in the DC Metro area where it has 100% of its maintenance people who are fluent in English, and I'll shut up. I can't even order in McDonalds without my order being messed up because of it. Because of where we live (DC) it is expected and a certain degree of temperment must be taken because of it. The smell of garbage in the halls. Nope, never smelled it. The chutes are located near the elevators and next to the 13th room on the floor. I have never smelled garbage going to work or moving around the 1st floor of the building. My wife has smelled some kind of sewage smell on occassion, but it didn't originate in the building. I have had my AC on at 74 degrees all summer, and winter. If you have to have it colder, more power to you. It is possible here. Most people are comfortable between 75-78 degrees. Although it is tricky in getting the 2 AC units (2 different controls) to get in sync with one another.. but it is possible. The Price? Hah! The price is up front, the stuff you get for it is as well. The game room is still in great shape, and even the pool table is not ripped up as I have seen in other places in the past. This shows they take care of it. The gym is still in prime shape as well. It is clean and never smells like gym socks, ever. I don't know where you have stayed at, but it wasn't here in my home. And for those that like to do our homework... Lincoln Towers is not Dittmar, it is Archstone which is a part of Charles E Smith. So take your stupid remarks, get educated and if you want to bash an apartment to make your building look not as bad, do your research. Is there a way to take idiotic ratings off? And no, I am not a part of Dittmar. This is our home, here at the Quincy. Will we be staying here? Probably not, as it is expensive and we are living close to our budget, but if we could afford it, this is a great place to live.
