My experience at Randolph has been pretty good overall. My apartment is spacious and well laid out, if a bit dated. I walk into the kitchen and think "Ferris Beuller's Day Off." If you're a gourmet cook, you may want to go for a renovated unit. The thermostat on my oven is about 100 degrees too cold. There are washers and dryers in the units...make sure you get a new one. I have an original washer/dryer set and it's about the size of a shot glass, and about as effective. S'OK, though, I found a laundromat who will do my laundry for me for .89/lb.

The common areas are well maintained. The elevators can be a flaky. There are days where you can call one from the lobby and watch them as they pass right by you.

Parking is not a problem, as my roommate and I have tandem parking, and it runs 40 bucks a month. If you do this, make sure you trust your roommate with your car keys, as you will have to keep an extra set in each others' cars.

The building manager is very nice and very responsive. The front desk guy is a bit gruff, but he seems to respect people who don't take any @&#$ from him. So tell him to cut the crap and give you the luggage cart, and he will provide great service.

I like the indoor pool and game room with pool tables. The gym is small, but Gold's is a block away.

One feature of this building that Lincoln Towers and Richmond Square don't have is the guest parking. There is limited guest parking in the back of the building. Very handy.

I will probably be here at least another year.
