it's not bad

I lived in Randolph Towers for about half a year starting in 9/05 in one of the bigger 2-BR unfurnished apartments. As I was on government per diem and didn't have to pay for rent, I can't comment on price, but overall Randolph Towers was a very pleasant experience.
Good points:
- mail open 24 hours a day
- common areas kept very clean
- no-hassle parking downstairs, and you can get temporary visitor parking passes
- Location: Ballston is truly just a bunch of concrete towers, but Metro access, a mall, and pretty good ethnic cuisine all within a 10-minute walk makes this a very convenient place to live. It just doesn't really have any historical character.
- my apartment had pretty new appliances and everything worked well
- grocery store, laundy service, etc. all right on site
- customer service, in general, pretty good
Bad points:
- high-speed internet access was a little bit of a pain to install - you have to work through a specific contractor
- the gym, though adequate, had limited and somewhat aging equipment
- maintenance workers often have very limited command of english. I was sometimes unable to read their notes / comments from their repair jobs.
Overall I had a good experience and would recommend this place.
