The good life in Ballston, looking out at the newer buildings.

The elevators sucked for a long time. But the management finally had them fixed in spring 2008. Now I just love living here.
The building is amazingly quiet, day and night. I have not ever heard my neighbors, even though one of them has small children. The walls are thick. As a graduate student, this helps a lot for studying.
I have had two maintenance requests - one for a plumbing issue, and one for a balcony door latch that didn't work. They were both fixed the next day; I was happy with the service. The people who work at the front desk are chatty and friendly.
My apartment has lots of closet space.
The fitness center, sufficient but not excellent, is open until 9:30 pm. There is a sauna.
Pretty much everything here isn't top-of-the-line or especially new. It couldn't be called "trendy," but it is well-maintained and a great place to live.
The location is great - close to Ballston Metro and the mall, maybe a half mile from Harris Teeter, a 24-hour grocery store. There are lots of little shops around here. However, it doesn't have Clarendon's nightlife.
It is a lovely place, and easily the best price in Ballston for the value.
