I have lived here for three and a half years. I live in the James building. The walls of the apartment are concrete, so it is very quiet. Yes the rent is expensive, but it's way cheaper than any other place in this area. It's close to metro. The maintenance staff is always quick to respond to problems, and they do a good job of fixing things. The new fitness center in the basement is awesome. The only downsides are that units don't have their own washers and dryers, but the building has a very nice laundry room. The other downside is that they don't have balconies, but they do have really big windows. This is a really great place to live, I would recommend it to anyone!!
