It worked for me

I lived in a studio apartment.
Pros:
Location is optimal. You can walk to metro or quickly drive to DC or MD. Could walk to Iwo Jima or easily access the bike path.
Always felt safe(I am female). Security was pretty good.
Low noise -- I occasionally heard my neighbor on one side, but that was when he turned his tv up very loud.
Garage parking, but I had to pay for it.
Cons:
The apartment was pretty small, but it was fine for me while I was single and in grad school.
The heat or air could not be individually regulated by me. Had to ask management to turn mine down or had to put a towel over the vent to block the flow.
Guest parking was awful. Guests had to pay to park and the lot was often full. That was the worst.
Overall, I liked it. I only moved because I got married.
