I'm a current resident at River Place South and have had multiple problems with the management and maintenance staff. The management office isn't accessible to anyone that has a job. They're open from 9-5, Mon-Fri, which happen to be the hours of everyone in this area. Calling them is useless because they say they'll have a maintenance person come up but it never happens. They schedule regular maintenance but tell you the day before via a memo shoved under your door that informs you that you must move all of your furniture that might be in the way. On days that I have been able to go down and speak to those in the management office I have found them outside socializing. They make you feel as though your units problems are bothersome and an annoyance rather than what they're paid to address.

The reception staff is rude with the exception of the evening staff who is most helpful and a delight to deal with. The day time staff either does not speak English fluently or is far too busy talking to their friends on the phone to deal with anyone.

None of the maintenance people speak English and can't tell you what is wrong or how to fix it yourself in the future. They often come in for regular maintenance without your knowledge (sometimes they don't shove a memo under your door) and replace things then leave you a completely illegible note saying that you or the owner of the unit has to pay for the repairs that you weren't even aware existed.

The heating/cooling system is deplorable. In the winter it's too hot and I have to open all the windows. In the summer it's equally as hot and the windows being open doesn't help. The A/C doesn't put out enough air and it feels as though you're sitting in an oven.

The appliances are old and dreadful. I cannot fit a whole oven pizza in my oven, I have to cut it in half. Everything is small and extremely old. The florescent lights in the kitchen are constantly going out. I'm starting to wonder if they're even putting in NEW bulbs.

Overall, River Place South's only good point is it's proximity to DC and the Metro.
