Not the worst place

I agree with parts of everyone's reviews. It's certainly not the worst place I've ever lived (thank you Historic Ballston Park), but it does have some downsides. One, it's not that management is mean, they're just not that bright. They're in a constant state of confusion that they manage buildings with tenants, and those tenants have questions and complaints. You have to be really specific with them, and if you have patience, they'll eventually get the point.
The gates for my building haven't worked in over a year, and last week management had the nerve to tell people to stop propping open the gates. Like I said, not that bright - if the gates don't close, because they're broken, it's not technically called propping it open.
My building didn't recycle until I called the office about it. I asked where the recycling was in the building, and they said P1. I went to P1 and there were no recycling bins. I called the office and told them this, and the lady said "Well, there are recycling bins in 1870 (the building next door)". I told her my key card doesn't work there, and she said to come on in and she'd recode my key card. I said, "So, that's your recycling policy' The resident has to ask where to do it, and then come in to get a key card recoded'". I then informed her that it's mandatory in Arlington to have bottle/glass and newspaper recycling, and there are supposed to be signs near trash sites directing residents where to recycle. She said she didn't know that and would look into it. A week later there were bins in my building, but still no signs letting anyone know. It's just not a priority here.
They finally seem to have fixed the parking problem here. I still have to call the tow trucks about once a month to have people towed from my designated spot, but I blame the residents more than management. If people don't respect their guests enough to keep them from parking in tow away zones, that's their problem.
It's a really pretty property. They recently upgraded the gym, so it's about on par with a hotel gym. There are two pools, which is nice, and neither have little kids running around. Rent increases are pretty significant, but what do you expect in Arlington.
